One tradition I missed when I was away was the annual delight that was Fenwick’s Christmas window – my friends used to send me pictures of each new scene, and it always made me homesick. So while I generally object to the proliferation of Christmas decorations this early, I admit when I had to be in town yesterday I took the chance to check out the new scene.
This year’s theme is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with a strong lean on Quentin Blake’s iconic illustrations, and it looks great. My only disappointment was that, so far at least, Gregg’s hasn’t pulled the same cheeky stunt it did last year.
